The Account of Śambhu’s Incarnation that Dispels Doubts Concerning Women
atha sā brahmāṇī sā hi vismitāti munīśvara | punaḥ papraccha taṃ bhikṣuṃ jñāninaṃ siddharūpakam
Suta Goswami (narrating to the sages, addressing a leading sage as 'munīśvara')
Tattva Level: pashu
Shiva Form: Bhikṣāṭana
The verse highlights the Shaiva theme that genuine spiritual knowledge (jñāna) awakens reverent inquiry—even exalted beings approach realized ascetics with humility to understand the path to Shiva-realization.
By presenting a jñānī-siddha as a spiritual authority, the text implies that Saguna Shiva worship (such as Linga-upāsanā) is best understood and practiced under the guidance of realized teachers who know Shiva as both accessible (Saguna) and transcendent (Nirguna).
The implied practice is śravaṇa and praśna—listening and asking questions of a realized devotee—often paired in Shaiva tradition with mantra-japa (especially the Panchakshara) and disciplined ascetic conduct.
