Description of Rudra’s Divine Chariot Construction
indriyāṇi ca tasyaiva bhūṣaṇāni samaṃtataḥ | śraddhā ca gatirasyaiva rathasya munisattama

It teaches that spiritual progress is not merely external action: the senses are ever-present “adornments” of embodied life, but the real forward movement toward Shiva (Pati) is powered by śraddhā—steady faith that matures into devotion and right practice.
Linga-worship in the Shiva Purana is sustained by śraddhā: offerings and rituals gain transformative force when performed with reverent trust in Saguna Shiva, who then leads the devotee beyond sense-bound living toward inner purity and liberation.
Cultivate śraddhā through daily Shiva-pūjā and japa of the Panchākṣarī (“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”), while practicing sense-restraint (indriya-nigraha) so the mind’s “chariot” moves steadily toward Shiva.
