निगीर्णैते सैन्यं विधसदितिजेनाद्य भगवन्निगीर्णोऽसौ विष्णुस्त्रिभुवनगुरुर्दैत्यदलनः । निगीर्णौ चन्द्रार्कौद्रुहिणमघवानौ च वरदौ निगीर्णास्ते सर्वे यमवरुणवाताश्च धनदः
nigīrṇaite sainyaṃ vidhasaditijenādya bhagavannigīrṇo'sau viṣṇustribhuvanagururdaityadalanaḥ | nigīrṇau candrārkaudruhiṇamaghavānau ca varadau nigīrṇāste sarve yamavaruṇavātāśca dhanadaḥ
«يا ربّ! اليوم ابتلع ذلك الأسورا، مُخرِّب نظام الدِّيفات، جيشَك. وحتى فيشنو—معلّم العوالم الثلاثة وقاهر الدايتيّات—قد ابتُلِع. وابتُلِع القمرُ والشمس، وكذلك براهما وإندرا، واهبا النِّعَم. نعم، لقد ابتُلِعوا جميعًا: ياما، وفارونا، وفايو، وكوبيرا (دهَنَدا) أيضًا»

It dramatizes the limitation of all cosmic authorities (Devas) when confronted by overwhelming darkness (asuric force), pointing the seeker toward Shiva as Pati—the ultimate refuge beyond the powers that govern the worlds.
When even Vishnu, Brahma, and the guardians of directions are shown as vulnerable, the narrative encourages devotion to Saguna Shiva—worshipped as the Linga—who alone stabilizes dharma and restores order in the cosmos.
Take refuge in japa of the Panchakshara (Om Namaḥ Śivāya) with Tripuṇḍra (bhasma) and Rudrākṣa as reminders of Shiva’s protecting presence when the mind feels 'swallowed' by fear, tamas, or inner enemies.
