शिवस्य सैन्यप्रयाणम् तथा गणपतिनामावलिः (Śiva’s Mobilization for War and the Catalogue of Gaṇa Commanders)
sanāhaśca śatenaiva kumudaḥ koṭibhistathā | amoghaḥ kokilaścaiva śatakoṭyā sumaṃtrakaḥ

By naming leaders and counting vast forces, the Purana highlights that even immense worldly power is still part of the Lord’s ordered cosmos; true refuge is Pati (Shiva), not mere numbers or armies.
The Yuddhakhaṇḍa setting emphasizes Saguna Shiva as the Lord who governs events, protects dharma, and directs outcomes; devotion to the Linga recognizes that all manifest powers ultimately depend on Shiva’s will.
A practical takeaway is to steady the mind amid ‘battle-like’ life by japa of the Panchākṣarī mantra (Om Namaḥ Śivāya) and maintaining Shaiva discipline such as Tripuṇḍra (bhasma) and Rudrāksha as supports for remembrance of Shiva.
