सोपि दम्भात्मजो दृष्ट्वा गतं कुल गुरुं च तम् । प्रणनाम महाभक्त्या साष्टांगं परमादरात्
sopi dambhātmajo dṛṣṭvā gataṃ kula guruṃ ca tam | praṇanāma mahābhaktyā sāṣṭāṃgaṃ paramādarāt
فلما رأى ابنُ دَمْبَها قدومَ مُعلّم السلالة الموقَّر، انحنى هو أيضًا بمحبةٍ تعبّدية عظيمة، وسجد سجودًا تامًّا (بأطرافه الثمانية) بأقصى التعظيم.

It highlights that humility and devotion are recognized as dharmic virtues: honoring the guru with wholehearted reverence purifies the ego and aligns one with Shiva’s grace through right conduct.
In Shaiva tradition, reverence to the guru supports correct Shiva-upasana; the guru transmits the proper attitude and method for Saguna worship (ritual devotion) that matures toward inner realization.
Sāṣṭāṅga praṇāma (full prostration) with bhakti is implied—performed mindfully before worship, scripture study, or mantra-japa to cultivate surrender and receptivity.
