FAQs

It declares that Śiva-bhakti itself is purifying: it destroys pāpa (bondage-producing impurities) and leads the devotee to satgati—right spiritual direction culminating in auspicious liberation—both in worldly life and after death.

By praising “Śambhu-bhakti,” the verse supports Saguna worship—such as reverence to the Śiva-liṅga—as a direct means to purification and grace, which in Śaiva Siddhānta matures into liberating knowledge through Śiva’s anugraha (divine favor).

The takeaway is steady Śiva-bhakti: daily japa of the Pañcākṣarī (“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) with liṅga-pūjā, optionally supported by bhasma (tripuṇḍra) and rudrākṣa as aids to remembrance and purity.
