शिवतेजसः समुद्रे बालरूपप्रादुर्भावः (Śiva’s Tejas Manifesting as a Child in the Ocean)
ये देवैर्निर्जिताः पूर्वं दैत्याः पाताल संस्थिताः । ते हि भूमंडलं याता निर्भयास्तमुपाश्रिताः
ye devairnirjitāḥ pūrvaṃ daityāḥ pātāla saṃsthitāḥ | te hi bhūmaṃḍalaṃ yātā nirbhayāstamupāśritāḥ

It shows how “taking refuge” (śaraṇāgati) immediately changes one’s inner state—fear turns into fearlessness; Shaiva Siddhanta emphasizes that true fearlessness is perfected when refuge is taken in Pati (Śiva) rather than in powers that sustain adharma.
The verse highlights the motif of approaching a tangible protector; in practice, devotees approach Saguna Shiva—often through Linga worship—as the accessible refuge, while remembering that the Linga points to Shiva’s supreme, transcendent reality.
Adopt a daily act of śaraṇāgati to Shiva: mentally offer fear and conflict at the Shiva-Linga, then repeat the Panchakshara “Om Namaḥ Śivāya” with steady breath to cultivate inner fearlessness.
