नारदस्य विष्णूपदेशवर्णनम् — Nārada and Viṣṇu: Instruction after Delusion
शिवेति नामपीयूषवर्षधारापरिप्लुतः । संसारदवमध्यपि न शोचति न संशयः
śiveti nāmapīyūṣavarṣadhārāpariplutaḥ | saṃsāradavamadhyapi na śocati na saṃśayaḥ
مَن اغتسل بسيلِ مطرِ الرحيق الذي هو اسمُ «شيفا»، وإن كان قائمًا في وسطِ حريقِ السَّمسارا، لا يحزن؛ ولا شكّ في ذلك.

It declares the saving power of Śiva-nāma: the remembrance and repetition of “Śiva” is likened to nectar-rain that cools the burning of saṃsāra, removing grief and stabilizing the devotee in grace.
In Saguna worship, the devotee approaches Śiva through accessible supports—Linga-pūjā and nāma-japa. This verse emphasizes that even simple utterance of the Lord’s Name carries Śiva’s cooling, protective presence amid worldly suffering.
Regular Shiva-nāma japa—especially the Panchākṣarī “Om Namaḥ Śivāya”—as daily practice; it may be combined with Linga-abhiṣeka, Tripuṇḍra (bhasma) and Rudrākṣa to deepen steadiness and devotion.
