कामविवाहवर्णनम् / Description of Kāma’s Marriage
कामोतीव सुखं प्राप्य सर्वदुःखक्षयं गतः । दक्षजापि रतिः कामं प्राप्य चापि जहर्ष ह
kāmotīva sukhaṃ prāpya sarvaduḥkhakṣayaṃ gataḥ | dakṣajāpi ratiḥ kāmaṃ prāpya cāpi jaharṣa ha
شعرَ كاما، كأنّه نالَ لذّةً عُليا، بأنّ كلَّ أحزانه قد انقضت. وكذلك رَتِي—من سلالةِ دَكْشَا—لمّا ظفرتْ بكاما من جديدٍ، فرِحتْ فرحًا عظيمًا.

It highlights how attachment and separation generate suffering, while reunion brings joy—yet, from a Śaiva Siddhānta lens, lasting freedom arises not from desire’s fulfillment but from turning the mind toward Pati (Śiva), the true end of duḥkha.
The narrative backdrop of Rudra Saṃhitā repeatedly contrasts worldly delight with the higher refuge in Saguna Śiva worship (Linga-arcana). Devotion to Śiva stabilizes the heart beyond the oscillations of loss and gain that even divine beings like Kāma and Rati experience.
A practical takeaway is japa of the Pañcākṣarī (“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) with Tripuṇḍra (bhasma) and Rudrākṣa as supports for sense-restraint—redirecting kāma into bhakti so sorrow does not return.
