Devas and Śiva’s Gaṇas Engage in Battle
yathā śivastathā tvaṃ hi yathā tvaṃ ca tathā śivaḥ | iti vedā varṇayaṃti śivaśāsanato hare

It teaches Hari–Hara aikya (essential unity): the Supreme Reality is one, appearing as Śiva and Viṣṇu for cosmic functions; realizing this non-duality supports liberation (mokṣa) through devotion and right knowledge.
It affirms that saguna worship—such as Śiva-liṅga pūjā—reaches the same Supreme Lord whom devotees may also approach as Hari; the forms differ in function and iconography, not in ultimate divinity.
Contemplate the one Lord in both names and forms while repeating the Pañcākṣarī (“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) with a non-sectarian, unified vision; this steadies bhakti and dissolves divisive notions.
