Viṣṇu’s Hymn and the Petition for Śiva–Satī’s Protection
trayo devā vayaṃ śaṃbho tvadātmānaḥ parā nahi | ekarūpā na bhinnāśca tattvatassuvicāraya
Brahma, Vishnu, and other Devas (collectively) addressing Lord Shiva (Śambhu)
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Sadāśiva
Type: stotra
It points to the core Shaiva insight that all divine powers and cosmic functions ultimately rest in Śiva-tattva; recognizing this unity dissolves egoic separation and supports liberation-oriented devotion.
The Liṅga signifies the one, undivided reality of Śiva beyond sectarian divisions; worship of Saguna Śiva (Śambhu) becomes a direct way to contemplate that all gods and powers are expressions grounded in Him.
A practical takeaway is tattva-vicāra (contemplation): while repeating the Pañcākṣarī “Om Namaḥ Śivāya,” meditate that all forms of divinity and the worshipper’s own inner awareness are rooted in Śiva.
