Satī at her father’s house: blessings and the onset of youth
brahmovāca | iti stutvā mahādevaṃ sarve viṣṇvādikāssurāḥ | tūṣṇīmāsanprabhoragre sadbhaktinatakaṃdharāḥ
Brahma
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Mahadeva
Type: stotra
It highlights the Shaiva ideal that even the highest devas culminate their praise in humility—silence and surrender before Pati (Śiva), acknowledging His supreme lordship and receiving grace through bhakti.
The verse models saguna-upāsanā: offering stuti (hymns) to Mahādeva and then standing/sitting quietly in His presence with bowed head—an inner act of pranipāta that naturally complements Linga worship.
After reciting Shiva-stotra or the Panchākṣarī (Om Namaḥ Śivāya), remain in mauna (reverent silence) with a bowed head—practicing surrender (śaraṇāgati) and steady remembrance of Śiva.
