Nārada and Himālaya: Discourse on Pārvatī’s Signs and Destiny
शिवाकर्ण्यवचस्ते हि तादृशं जगदम्बिका । लक्षणैस्तं शिवं मत्त्वा जहर्षाति मुने हृदि
śivākarṇyavacaste hi tādṛśaṃ jagadambikā | lakṣaṇaistaṃ śivaṃ mattvā jaharṣāti mune hṛdi
فلما سمعت كلمات شيفا تلك، صارت أمُّ العالم على ذلك الحال؛ وإذ عرفت بالعلامات أنه هو شيفا حقًّا، ابتهج قلبها، أيها الحكيم.

Tattva Level: pashu
Sthala Purana: This verse marks inner recognition: Pārvatī, hearing the description, identifies the ‘signs’ of Śiva and rejoices—an internal ‘darśana’ rather than a site-specific liṅga manifestation.
Shakti Form: Pārvatī
Role: liberating
It highlights inner recognition (pratyabhijñā-like certainty) born of devotion: the Goddess identifies Śiva through divine marks and experiences heartfelt joy—an indicator of grace and right discernment in the Shaiva path.
The verse emphasizes recognizing Śiva through “lakṣaṇas” (signs/attributes), aligning with Saguna devotion where the devotee perceives Śiva’s presence through sacred forms, marks, and auspicious characteristics—foundational to Linga-centered worship in the Shiva Purana.
A practical takeaway is dhyāna with lakṣaṇa-smaraṇa: meditate on Śiva’s auspicious attributes while repeating the Panchākṣarī (“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”), cultivating inner certainty and devotional joy.
