It highlights maṅgala (auspicious ordering) in worship—purifying the space and arranging sacred items so devotion becomes focused and the mind turns toward Shiva-centered dharma.
The maṅgala-ghaṭa and fragrant offerings are standard supports for Saguna worship, preparing an auspicious environment for pūjā where Shiva is approached through consecrated symbols and rites.
Establish a kalaśa (maṅgala-ghaṭa) and sanctify the approach with fragrance and purity; inwardly, maintain steady bhakti while reciting Shiva’s mantras (such as the Pañcākṣarī, “Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) during the preparations.
