Lord Shiva (teaching in the Pārvatīkhaṇḍa context)
Tattva Level: pasha
Shiva Form: Dakṣiṇāmūrti
Role: teaching
It teaches that craving for sense-pleasures becomes a binding pāśa (fetters) that destroys inner peace; disciplined renunciation supports clarity, devotion, and progress toward Shiva-realization.
Linga-worship trains the mind to turn from fleeting objects to the steady presence of Saguna Shiva; by reducing sense-attachment, the devotee’s puja becomes more inward, pure, and one-pointed.
Practice daily Shiva-puja with japa of the Pañcākṣarī (Om Namaḥ Śivāya) and simple restraint (niyama); treat tempting enjoyments as ‘poison’ by consciously redirecting attention to mantra and breath.
