It teaches that remembrance of Śiva’s lotus-feet (śiva-pāda-smaraṇa) sanctifies and empowers one’s actions; divine power manifests when the mind first takes refuge in Pati (Śiva), the supreme Lord.
The verse reflects Saguna devotion—meditating on Śiva’s sacred feet as a concrete focus—similar to Linga worship where the devotee centers attention on Śiva’s accessible form to invoke grace and protective śakti.
Begin any sādhana or undertaking with Shiva-smaraṇa—mentally bow to Śiva’s feet, recite the Pañcākṣarī (Om Namaḥ Śivāya), and proceed with disciplined action as an offering.
