It teaches that humility (namaskāra) and disciplined performance of a vow (vrata) together mature into iṣṭa-phala—desired spiritual and worldly results—ultimately grounded in Śiva’s grace as Pati (the Lord).
The verse emphasizes a devotional protocol—salutation and orderly observance—which is characteristic of Saguna Śiva worship around the Liṅga, where reverence and prescribed ritual action are performed to invoke Śiva’s anugraha (blessing).
Begin with repeated namaskāras (prostrations) and then carry out the vrata’s prescribed acts with steadiness; as a Shaiva takeaway, pair the observance with japa of the Pañcākṣarī “Om Namaḥ Śivāya” to align intention and result.
