इन्द्रजित्-लक्ष्मणयुद्धम् तथा वानरप्रोत्साहनम्
Indrajit–Lakshmana Battle and the Rallying of the Vanaras
तदद्भुतमभूत्तत्रसामर्थ्यंपश्यतांयुधि ।हयेषुव्यग्रहस्तं त विव्याधनिशितैःशरैः ।।।।धनुष्यथपुनर्व्यग्रेहयेषुमुमुचेशरान् ।
tad adbhutam abhūt tatra sāmarthyaṃ paśyatāṃ yudhi | hayeṣu vyagrahastaṃ taṃ vivyādha niśitaiḥ śaraiḥ || dhanuṣi atha punar vyagre hayeṣu mumuce śarān ||
While Indrajith was engaged with the horses in one hand and battling, his capacity was a wonder to the onlookers. Lakshmana again attacked him loosening pointed arrows at him while Indrajith was busy with his bow.
The verse underscores the discipline and focus demanded in righteous warfare: skill is tested when duties collide (driving, aiming, defending). It implicitly values steadiness and competence in one’s role.
Indrajit is simultaneously handling the horses and fighting; amid this, sharp arrows strike him and volleys are exchanged.
Concentration and battlefield dexterity—maintaining control even when multitasking under attack.
