وقد حُطِّمت دروعُه وتُرسُه بسهامٍ من حديد، وقف إندراجيتُ جريحًا في المعركة كالشمس عند الفجر، متوهّجًا وسط الدم والغبار.
Indrajith's shield shattered by the iron arrows, (of Lakshmana) in the combat, he seemed (bathed in blood) like the morning Sun.
The verse highlights kṣatriya-dharma: even when wounded and disarmed (armour shattered), a warrior is expected to maintain resolve and presence on the battlefield rather than collapse into fear or deceit.
In the Lakṣmaṇa–Indrajit duel, Lakṣmaṇa’s iron arrows break Indrajit’s defensive gear, leaving him visibly wounded yet still formidable.
Martial steadfastness (dhairya/śaurya): Indrajit remains a commanding figure despite injury.
