कुम्भकर्णोपदेशः
Kumbhakarna’s Counsel and War-Boast to Ravana
दीर्घकालंप्रसुप्तस्यकुम्भकर्णस्यविक्रमम् ।।6.63.55।।अद्यपश्यन्तुभूतानिभक्ष्यमाणानिसर्वशः ।नन्विदंत्रिदिवंसर्वमाहारस्य न पूर्यते ।।6.63.56।।
nanv idaṃ tridivaṃ sarvam āhārasya na pūryate ||6.63.56||
«حقًّا، إنّ العوالم الثلاثة مجتمعة لا تكفي لتملأ جوعي طعامًا.»
He who thinks with ministers and considers the five aspects of threefold duties and moves in the right path performs (Five aspects of action are the method of initiating action, material to be worked upon, time and place of action, provision against mischance and the chances of success). Threefold duties with reference to enemies are Sama, Daana, and Bedha."
Unbounded appetite symbolizes unchecked desire (kāma) without dharma; the epic critiques excess that consumes the world rather than sustaining it.
Continuing his boast, Kumbhakarṇa depicts his hunger as cosmic and insatiable.
