Ravana Dispatches Vajradamshtra; Portents and Angada’s Assault
तद्राक्षसबलंसर्वंविप्रस्थितमशोभत ।प्रावृटकालेयथामेघानर्दमानास्सविद्युतः ।।।।निस्सृतादक्षिणद्वारादङ्गदोयत्रयूथपः ।
tad rākṣasabalaṃ sarvaṃ viprasthitam aśobhata |
prāvṛṭkāle yathā meghā nardamānāḥ savidyutaḥ ||
niḥsṛtād dakṣiṇadvārād aṅgado yatra yūthapaḥ |
حينئذٍ بدا جيشُ الرّاكشاسا كلُّه، وقد خرج مصطفًّا في نظامٍ كامل، بهيًّا—كغيومِ موسمِ الأمطار الرعديّة تتلألأ بالبرق. واندفعوا من الباب الجنوبي، حيث كان أنغادا، قائدُ الفانارا، مرابطًا.
Then the entire Rakshasa army determined with a purpose roaring like clouds of the rainy season it looked splendid and crossed over the southern gate where Angada was stationed.
Dharma in warfare includes vigilance and rightful defense: Aṅgada’s stationing at the gate reflects duty-bound protection against aggression.
The Rākṣasa army exits the city through the southern gate, moving toward the Vānara forces; Aṅgada is positioned there to meet them.
Steadfastness and readiness in service (kartavya-niṣṭhā) are emphasized through Aṅgada’s guarding role.
