सुन्दरकाण्डे अष्टपञ्चाशः सर्गः
हनुमद्वृत्तान्तकथनम्, सीताभिज्ञान-प्रदानम्, लङ्कादाह-वर्णनम्
स प्राकारमवप्लुत्य पश्यामि बहुपादपम्।अशोकवनिकामध्ये शिंशुपापादपो महान्।।।।तमारुह्य च पश्यामि काञ्चनं कदलीवनम्।
sa prākāram avaplutya paśyāmi bahu-pādapam |
aśoka-vanikā-madhye śiṃśupā-pādapo mahān ||
tam āruhya ca paśyāmi kāñcanaṃ kadalī-vanam |
ولمّا اجتزتُ ذلك السور رأيتُ بُستانًا كثيرَ الأشجار. وفي وسط حديقة الأَشوكا قامت شجرةُ الشِّمْشُپا العظيمة؛ فلمّا صعدتُ إليها أبصرتُ غابةَ الموز تتلألأ كأنّها من ذهب.
"I crossed that boundary wall and saw many kinds of trees and in the midst of that Ashoka garden, a huge Simsupa tree. I ascended it and saw rows of banana plants.
