Description of Rama and Lakshmana; Alliance Narrative to Sita
गृध्रराजस्य सोदर्यः सम्पातिर्नाम गृध्रराट्।श्रुत्वा भ्रातृवधं कोपादिदं वचनमब्रवीत्।।।।
gṛdhrarājasya sodaryaḥ sampātir nāma gṛdhrarāṭ | śrutvā bhrātṛvadhaṃ kopād idaṃ vacanam abravīt ||5.35.63||
كان ملكُ النسورِ يُدعى سَمْباتي، وهو الشقيقُ التامّ لملكِ النسور؛ فلمّا سمع بمقتلِ أخيه، تكلّم بهذه الكلمات غضبًا.
'O best of vanaras! by whom was my younger brother killed? Where was he dropped down? I wish you to tell me all about that.
The verse reflects righteous indignation rooted in kinship and justice: grief and anger arise when dharma is violated through wrongful killing.
Hanuman introduces Sampati and explains that Sampati reacted strongly upon hearing of his brother’s death.
Familial loyalty and a sense of justice—Sampati’s response shows protective concern for his brother’s fate.
