Hanuman Enters Lanka and Encounters Laṅkā-devatā
स लम्बशिखरे लम्बे लम्बतोयदसन्निभे।सत्त्वमास्थाय मेधावी हनुमान् मारुतात्मजः।।5.3.1।।निशि लङ्कां महासत्त्वो विवेश कपिकुञ्जरः।रम्यकाननतोयाढ्यां पुरीं रावणपालिताम्।।5.3.2।।
sa lambaśikhare lambe lambatoyadasannibhe | sattvam āsthāya medhāvī hanumān mārutātmajaḥ ||
niśi laṅkāṃ mahāsattvo viveśa kapikuñjaraḥ | ramyakānanatoyāḍhyāṃ purīṃ rāvaṇapālitām ||
إنّ هانومان الحكيم، ابنَ إله الريح، وقد اتّخذ شجاعةً راسخةً سندًا له على قمةِ لَمبا الشاهقة—كأنها سحابةُ مطرٍ معلّقة—دخل ليلًا إلى لَنْكا، المدينة التي يحكمها رافانا، الغنية بالبساتين الحسنة والغابات والمياه.
The mighty son of the Windgod, intelligent Hanuman, an elephant among vanaras, standing on the peak of the Lamba which looked like a high rainbearing cloud and relying on his energy, entered by night the city of Lanka, ruled by Ravana rich in delightful forests, groves and water pools.
