Trijata’s Dream-Omens and the Rakshasis’ Reversal
लङ्का दृष्टा मया स्वप्ने रावणेनाभिरक्षिता।।5.27.36।।
दग्धा रामस्य दूतेन वानरेण तरस्विना।
laṅkā dṛṣṭā mayā svapne rāvaṇenābhirakṣitā ||5.27.36||
dagdhā rāmasya dūtena vānarena tarasvinā |
في حلمي رأيتُ لانكا، وإن كانت محروسةً براڤانا، قد أُحرقت على يد فانارا شديد البأس، رسولِ راما.
"All the demonesses in the city of Lanka which had turned dry, reduced to ashes, were dancing, laughing and shouting loudly drunk with oil..
Dharma protects the violated and punishes injustice: even strong defenses fail when power is used to uphold wrongdoing.
Trijaṭā’s dream foretells a vānara envoy of Rāma burning Laṅkā, foreshadowing Hanumān’s role and Laṅkā’s vulnerability.
Rāma’s righteous agency (through his dūta): justice advances through disciplined service to dharma.
