हनूमद्बलप्रबोधनम् / Jāmbavān Rekindles Hanūmān’s Power
विख्याता त्रिषु लोकेषु रूपेणाप्रतिमा भुवि।अभिशापादभूत्तात वानरी कामरूपिणी।।।।
vikhyātā triṣu lokeṣu rūpeṇāpratimā bhuvi | abhiśāpād abhūt tāta vānarī kāmarūpiṇī ||
يا بُنيّ، كانت مشهورةً في العوالم الثلاثة، لا نظير لجمالها على الأرض؛ غير أنّها بسبب لعنةٍ صارت قِردةً أنثى قادرةً على التشكل كما تشاء.
'O dear! she was famous in the three worlds, peerless in beauty and could change form at her free will. She was born of a monkey on this land by dint of a curse.
Actions and their consequences (karma) shape one’s worldly condition; dharma involves accepting consequences without losing the capacity for righteous action.
Jāmbavān continues the account of Hanumān’s mother, explaining how a curse led to her monkey-form on earth.
