तीर-वर्णनम् / Rama’s Lament at Pampa and the Approach to Rishyamuka
मन्दाकिन्यास्तु यदिदं रूपमेवं मनोहरम्।स्थाने जगति विख्याता गुणास्तस्या मनोरमाः।।।।
mandākinyās tu yad idaṃ rūpam evaṃ manoharam |
sthāne jagati vikhyātā guṇās tasyā manoramāḥ ||
إن كانت الماندَاكيني بهذه الروعة الآسرة، فبحقٍّ اشتهرت في العالم كله خصالها البهيّة المحبّبة.
'Only Ganga, like Pampa, has such captivating charm. Its beauty and virtues are famous in the world.
Speaking truthfully in praise (satya) and recognizing excellence as ‘rightly famed’ reflects dharma of fair acknowledgment and reverence for sacred places.
Rāma compares or recalls the famed beauty of the Mandākinī while describing the landscape to Lakṣmaṇa.
