Narada’s Summary to Valmiki
कोन्वस्मिन्साम्प्रतं लोके गुणवान्कश्च वीर्यवान् ।धर्मज्ञश्च कृतज्ञश्च सत्यवाक्यो दृढव्रत:।।।।
ko nvasmin sāmprataṃ loke guṇavān kaś ca vīryavān | dharmajñaś ca kṛtajñaś ca satyavākyo dṛḍhavrataḥ ||
مَن ذا في هذا العالم اليوم موصوفٌ بالفضيلة والبأس—عارفٌ بالدَّرما، شاكرٌ للمعروف، صادقُ القول، ثابتُ العهد؟
"Who in this world lives today endowed with excellent qualities, prowess, righteousness, gratitude, truthfulness and firmness in his vows?
Dharma is defined through qualities: knowledge of right conduct, gratitude, truthfulness in speech, and unwavering commitment to vows.
Vālmīki asks Nārada to identify a living exemplar of ideal virtues—setting the stage for Rāma’s profile.
Satya (truthful speech) and dṛḍha-vrata (steadfast vows), supported by dharma-knowledge and gratitude.
