दशरथस्य शोकानुचिन्तनं शब्धवेधि-दोषस्मरणं च
Daśaratha’s grief, karmic reflection, and the remembered ‘śabdavedhī’ misdeed
यदाचरति कल्याणि शुभं वा यदि वाऽशुभम्।तदेव लभते भद्रे कर्ता कर्मजमात्मनः।।2.63.6।।
yad ācarati kalyāṇi śubhaṃ vā yadi vā ’śubham | tad eva labhate bhadre kartā karmajām ātmanaḥ || 2.63.6 ||
يا مباركة، ما يفعله المرء—خيرًا كان أو شرًّا—فإنما يناله هو بعينه؛ إذ إن الثمرة مولودة من عمله هو (كارما).
O gentle auspicious lady! a man has to reap the fruit of his action, good or evil.
Karma-niyama: the doer must experience the results of actions—good yields good, evil yields suffering—affirming moral order in the world.
Daśaratha instructs Kauśalyā, framing his present suffering as the fruit of past deeds.
Moral responsibility: accepting that one’s fate is tied to one’s own conduct.
