Vārāṇasī (Kāśī)

FAQs

It presents Kāśī as an exceptionally purifying tīrtha whose sanctity is said to uplift not only the pilgrim but also their family line.

It emphasizes the extraordinary purificatory power attributed to Kāśī in tīrtha-māhātmya literature; it is not a license for wrongdoing, but a statement of sacred-place merit and transformative potential.

Sacred travel is framed as a catalyst for inner change: even those burdened by faults are encouraged toward a place and practice associated with purification, repentance, and renewal.
