Concept: When Mādhava is favorable across births, śraddhā naturally arises upon hearing Tulasi’s glory, leading to Hari-arcana with Tulasi.

Application: Cultivate śravaṇa (hearing) of Tulasi and Viṣṇu-kathā; keep consistent daily worship so that faith becomes stable rather than mood-dependent.

Primary Rasa: shanta

Secondary Rasa: adbhuta

Visual Art Cues: {"scene_description":"A contemplative sage-like devotee listens to a reciter speaking Tulasi-māhātmya; as the words land, a subtle vision of Mādhava appears ‘face-to-face’ in the devotee’s inner space, mirrored by a Tulasi sprig held at the heart. The scene emphasizes faith arising like dawn—quiet, inevitable, and luminous.","primary_figures":["Mādhava (Viṣṇu)","a wise devotee (sudhī)","a reciter/sage"],"setting":"A simple āśrama courtyard with a Tulasi plant near a small Viṣṇu shrine; palm-leaf manuscripts and a low wooden seat for recitation.","lighting_mood":"divine radiance","color_palette":["soft gold","holy basil green","ivory white","deep indigo","sandalwood brown"],"tanjore_prompt":"Tanjore painting style: Mādhava appearing front-facing with a radiant gold-leaf halo behind a listening devotee; Tulasi sprig prominent in the devotee’s hands; ornate shrine elements, rich reds and greens, gem-like highlights, traditional Vaishnava tilaka details, embossed gold borders.","pahari_prompt":"Pahari miniature style: an intimate listening scene in an āśrama garden; the devotee’s face shows dawning faith, while a faint, translucent Mādhava appears in the air as a blessing; delicate lines, cool shadows, lyrical trees, refined expressions, subtle gradients.","kerala_mural_prompt":"Kerala mural style: bold outlined Mādhava in a blessing posture behind the devotee, Tulasi plant stylized with rhythmic leaves; warm yellow-red background, green accents, temple-wall composition, large expressive eyes and symmetrical ornamentation.","pichwai_prompt":"Pichwai cloth painting style: central Tulasi motif framed by floral borders; a small front-facing Viṣṇu aura above a listening devotee; deep blue ground with gold patterns, lotus and Tulasi vines interwoven, intricate textile-like detailing."}

FAQs

It links hearing sacred instruction (śravaṇa/śrutvā) with the arising of faith (śraddhā), culminating in devotional worship of Hari—specifically using tulasī, a classic Vaishnava devotional offering.

Tulasī is presented as a distinctly potent devotional medium for Vishnu/Hari worship; the verse frames tulasī-offering as an expression of awakened faith and ongoing divine favor.

Cultivated wisdom across lives and receptivity to sacred teaching lead to steadfast devotion; the practical outcome is sincere worship grounded in faith rather than mere ritualism.
