अथ वर्त्मनि गच्छंतमुवाच ब्राह्मणो हरिं । विप्र उवाच । तुलाधारे च न स्नानं न देवपितृतर्पणम्

atha vartmani gacchaṃtamuvāca brāhmaṇo hariṃ | vipra uvāca | tulādhāre ca na snānaṃ na devapitṛtarpaṇam

وبينما كان هري يسير في الطريق خاطبه برهمن. قال البرهمن: «عند تُلادهارا لا يوجد اغتسالٌ شعائري ولا تقدمةُ التَّرْبَنَة (tarpaṇa) للآلهة وللآباء الأسلاف (pitṛ)».
