Colophon / redactional closing formula (not a dialogue speaker)

Concept: Scriptural framing: the vrata is authoritatively embedded in Purāṇic transmission, emphasizing the Padma Purana’s vrata-centric identity.

Application: Treat vows as part of a living lineage: keep records, follow completion rites, and honor the textual source and teacher-student chain.

Primary Rasa: shanta

Behind, a faint lotus motif and a moon-disc watermark suggest Padma Purana’s lotus origin and the lunar vrata’s theme, conveying the quiet dignity of textual completion.","primary_figures":["scribe (optional)","manuscript as focal object"],"setting":"Traditional manuscript-copying room or temple library (grantha-bhaṇḍāra) with wooden shelves and wrapped bundles.","lighting_mood":"temple lamp-lit","color_palette":["warm amber","aged parchment","deep brown","vermillion","smoky black"],"tanjore_prompt":"Tanjore painting style: ornate framed manuscript scene with gold leaf borders, stylized palm-leaf folios inscribed in Devanagari, oil lamp with embossed flame, lotus medallions and a subtle moon emblem; rich reds and greens with gem-like highlights, devotional library aesthetic.","pahari_prompt":"Pahari miniature style: intimate scholar’s corner with delicate linework, manuscript folios, inkpot, and lamp; soft warm light against cool shadow, refined minimalism, gentle textures of paper and wood.","kerala_mural_prompt":"Kerala mural style: bold outlined manuscript and lamp, decorative temple-wall border patterns, lotus and moon symbols in medallions; earthy pigments with strong contrast, icon-like still life composition.","pichwai_prompt":"Pichwai cloth painting style: central manuscript panel framed by intricate floral borders and lotus motifs, a moon medallion at top, deep blue background with gold and white ornamentation; devotional textile aesthetic applied to a ‘scripture-as-sacred-object’ theme."}

FAQs

It is a colophon—a standard editorial closing formula marking the end of Adhyaya 26 and giving the chapter’s title and placement within Book 1 (Sṛṣṭikhaṇḍa).

The title signals that the chapter’s topic is a specific religious observance (vrata) associated with Rohiṇī and Candra (the Moon), rather than a new dialogue exchange in this line itself.

Use it as the authoritative end-marker and metadata anchor for: Padma Purāṇa → Book 1 (Sṛṣṭikhaṇḍa) → Adhyaya 26, and link it to the chapter title “Rohiṇī–Candra-śayana-vrata.”
