दैवासुरं यथावृत्तं तन्मे कथय सुव्रत । पुलस्त्य उवाच । तेषां जयनिमित्तं वै संग्रामा स्युः सुदारुणाः
daivāsuraṃ yathāvṛttaṃ tanme kathaya suvrata | pulastya uvāca | teṣāṃ jayanimittaṃ vai saṃgrāmā syuḥ sudāruṇāḥ
«يا صاحب النذور الفاضلة، حدّثني على وجه الدقّة بما جرى في صراع الديفا مع الدايتيا (daitya).» فأجاب بولاستيا (Pulastya): «طلبًا للنصر لهذا الفريق أو ذاك، كانت تقع بينهم معارك شديدة الهول.»
