atha niścitamālokya pādapadme svakeṃ'bikā | jiteṃdriyaṃ mahārājaṃ pratyakṣābhūtsutoṣitā
Narrator (contextual; the verse reports an event rather than direct speech)
Primary Rasa: adbhuta
Secondary Rasa: shanta
Ambikā is a name of the Goddess (Devī), here portrayed as granting direct vision (pratyakṣa-darśana) when pleased.
His self-mastery—jitendriya, “conqueror of the senses”—and his firm resolve at the Goddess’s lotus-feet are highlighted as the basis for divine grace.
Steadfast resolve, humility at the divine feet, and control of the senses are presented as conditions that lead to spiritual fruition—here symbolized by the Goddess’s direct manifestation.
