Concept: Refuge in the Immortal (Hari) renders fear powerless; Hari is brahma-jñāna-maya—embodiment/source of liberating knowledge—and protector of the righteous (brahmaṇya).

Application: In moments of fear, repeat a Hari-nāma or a short śaraṇāgati line; support dharma through respect for learning, teachers, and ethical speech; study a small portion of śāstra daily to align with ‘brahma-jñāna-maya’.

Primary Rasa: shanta

Secondary Rasa: vira

FAQs

It presents surrender to Hari (“prapannosmi”) as the direct cause of fearlessness, implying that refuge in God is spiritually protective and liberating.

It describes Hari as embodying Brahman-knowledge—i.e., the ultimate reality and saving wisdom are revealed through him, aligning devotion with jñāna (spiritual insight).

Cultivate refuge in the Divine and reverence for dharma and Brahmanas; when one is grounded in surrender and right understanding, fear loses its power.
