FAQs

It sanctifies the confluence (saṅgama) as a tirtha by stating that Brahmā himself established a supreme Śiva-liṅga there, making the site authoritative for pilgrimage and worship under the name Saṅgameśvara.

By emphasizing a named, consecrated deity-form (Saṅgameśvara liṅga) at a specific tirtha, the verse supports bhakti through darśana, pūjā, and remembrance of the Lord at a sacred location, grounding devotion in a recognized holy manifestation.

Ritual practice is implied: the concept of स्थापना (pratiṣṭhā/installation) of a liṅga points to kalpa-style procedural knowledge (rules of worship and consecration) rather than grammar or astrology in this specific verse.
