Yama’s Journey to Brahmaloka
Ekadashi–Dvadashi Mahatmya in the Rukmangada Cycle
vāsare vāsare viṣṇoḥ śuklapakṣe mahīpatiḥ | aśukle tu viśeṣeṇa paṭahe hemasaṃpuṭe || 12 ||
Narada
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: bhakti
Secondary Rasa: adbhuta
It links devotion to Viṣṇu with disciplined time-keeping: worship and recitation aligned to the lunar fortnight, emphasizing purity, regularity, and reverent handling of sacred materials.
Bhakti is shown as steady daily practice—reciting and observing for Viṣṇu repeatedly—while also honoring sacredness through careful preservation and heightened attentiveness in the darker fortnight.
It reflects Jyotiṣa-based ritual timing: the distinction between Śukla Pakṣa and Kṛṣṇa Pakṣa as a practical calendrical rule for organizing worship and vrata performance.
