The Description of the Four Durgā Mantras
evaṃ kṛte jagadvaśyo ramāyā bhavanaṃ bhavet | raktotpalaistrimadhvaktairaruṇairvā hayārijaiḥ || 80 ||
Sanatkumara (teaching Narada in a vidhi/ritual instruction sequence)
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: adbhuta
Secondary Rasa: vira
It states the phala (result) of correctly following the prescribed vidhi: one gains auspicious influence (jagadvaśyatā) and reaches the grace-filled state symbolized as “Ramā’s abode,” i.e., Lakṣmī’s favor and prosperity aligned with dharma.
Bhakti here is expressed as precise, reverent worship using approved offerings; the verse emphasizes that sincere devotion, when joined with proper method (vidhi), yields Lakṣmī’s anugraha (blessing) and worldly harmony.
Ritual-technical knowledge of dravya (materials) and application (e.g., specific flowers and sweet mixtures) is highlighted—showing how procedural correctness in worship supports intended results, consistent with kalpa-style instruction.
