स्वमस्तके ललाटादि दिक्ष्वष्टस्वधउर्द्ध्वतः । ह्रस्वदीर्घकादिकाष्टवर्गपूर्वान्दिशाधिपान् ॥ ४८ ॥

على رأس المرء نفسه—ابتداءً من الجبهة—ينبغي أن يضع (في الذهن) آلهة الجهات الحاكمة في الجهات الثماني وكذلك في الأعلى، مرتَّبةً وفق التسلسل الذي يبدأ بالحركات القصيرة والطويلة ثم بمجموعات الحروف الساكنة ابتداءً من «كا» (الأشتا-فارغا).
