Kārtavīrya-kavaca-vṛttānta

Narada (in dialogue context with the Sanatkumara tradition; verse enumerates harmful/adharmic types)
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: shanta
Secondary Rasa: bibhatsa
It trains discernment (viveka) by naming concrete forms of adharma—obstruction, waylaying, theft, and deception—so a seeker can protect dharma and keep one’s life and practice aligned with righteous action.
Bhakti grows where conduct is guarded: avoiding deceitful and harmful company prevents distraction, fear, and loss, allowing steady worship, study, and service to remain uninterrupted.
It reflects practical niti used alongside Vedanga learning: safeguarding one’s duties (kārya) and resources supports sustained study (especially Vyakarana/Chandas learning) and disciplined observance of vows and rites without disruption.
