The Description of the Worship of Rāma and Others
Rāmādi-pūjā-vidhāna
ṣaḍaṃgāni prakurvīta dvirāvṛttyā padatrayaiḥ | dhyānārcanādikaṃ sava hyasya kuryāddaśārṇavat || 78 ||
Sanatkumara (teaching Narada in the Vedanga/ritual-technical section)
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: shanta
Secondary Rasa: bhakti
It emphasizes disciplined upāsanā: before worship, one purifies and “installs” the mantra through the sixfold auxiliary rite (ṣaḍaṅga), then completes the full sequence of meditation and worship in a standardized traditional method.
Bhakti here is shown as structured devotion—dhyāna (inner remembrance) joined with arcana (outer worship)—performed with correct mantra-practice and prescribed order, so devotion becomes steady and effective.
It highlights ritual-technical discipline: correct mantra-application (a fixed three-word formula with specified repetition) and ṣaḍaṅga practice (a standard auxiliary framework used in mantra-upāsanā and nyāsa-style procedures).
