Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: raudra
Secondary Rasa: bhayanaka
It warns that mantra-repetition done in an improper or unsuitable way can lead to spiritual non-attainment—no siddhi—and even progressive decline, despite outward signs like solitude and regularity.
It implies that true devotion is not merely mechanical japa or external austerity; the inner orientation and correct sambandha (right connection to the deity/mantra and method) are essential for bhakti to mature into fruit.
It reflects a technical mantra-discipline principle: correct mantra choice and proper procedure (prayoga/vidhi) matter for results—an applied, rule-based approach aligned with Vedanga-style precision (especially śikṣā/phonetics and ritual method).
