yasya śaktitrayeṇadaṃ saṃprītamakhilaṃ jagat | yajñasūtrāya tasmai te yajñasūtraṃ prakalpaye || 57 ||
Sanatkumara (in instruction to Narada / ritual context of Vedanga practice)
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: bhakti
Secondary Rasa: shanta
It sacralizes the yajñopavīta by linking it to the Supreme’s threefold śakti, teaching that the thread is not merely social custom but a reminder of cosmic order and divine presence in yajña.
By describing the Lord as the very “yajña-sūtra,” the verse turns an external rite into an inward act of remembrance—wearing the thread becomes a bhakti-oriented symbol of dedication to the divine source sustaining the world.
It highlights samskāra-vidhi (rite of investiture) and yajña-prayoga (ritual application): the formal bestowal of the sacred thread with a consecratory statement that frames the rite within dharma and Vedic ritual science.
