Sanatkumara (in dialogue with Narada)
Vrata: prescribed expiatory vow for gurutalpa (unnamed here)
Primary Rasa: shanta
Secondary Rasa: bibhatsa
It frames prāyaścitta as a disciplined vow (vrata) meant to restrain the senses and purify the offender after a grave transgression, emphasizing rule-bound ritual conduct (vidhivat) as a means of pāpa-śamana (sin-removal).
Though primarily a Dharma/prāyaścitta instruction, it indirectly supports Bhakti by insisting on inner and outer purification; such purification is presented in Purāṇic teaching as a prerequisite for steady worship and remembrance of the divine.
Ritual procedure (kalpa-style discipline) is implied: the regulated use of kuśa for sanctification, time-counting of nights (pañcarātra), and performance of a specified vrata according to injunction (vidhi).
