Dharmānukathana
Narration of Dharma
देवतायतने ये तु घण्टानादं प्रकुर्वते । तेषां पुण्यं निगदितुं न समर्थः शिवः स्वयम् ॥ १४५ ॥
devatāyatane ye tu ghaṇṭānādaṃ prakurvate | teṣāṃ puṇyaṃ nigadituṃ na samarthaḥ śivaḥ svayam || 145 ||
الذين يقرعون الجرس في معبد الإله—إن فضلهم لا يقدر حتى شيفا نفسه أن يصفه وصفًا تامًّا.
Narada (teaching within the Purva-bhaga discourse)
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: bhakti
Secondary Rasa: adbhuta
It elevates even a small act of temple-sevā—ringing the bell—as a powerful devotional gesture whose spiritual merit is said to be beyond complete description.
Bhakti is shown as practical and accessible: sincere reverence in a temple, expressed through simple service, generates immense puṇya and deepens devotional orientation toward the deity.
It primarily reflects ritual discipline (kalpa/ācāra in practice): correct temple conduct and prescribed acts in worship, emphasizing that precise, reverent performance of rites bears significant spiritual fruit.
