Narration of Dharma
adāmbhikā gatāsūyāḥ prayānti brahmaṇaḥ padam | paropadeśaniratā vītarāgā vimatsarā || 114 ||
Narada
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: shanta (peace)
Secondary Rasa: bhakti (devotion)
It defines the inner qualifications for liberation—humility, absence of envy and jealousy, and detachment—stating that such purified character leads to attainment of Brahman’s supreme state.
By emphasizing vimatsaratā (non-jealousness) and selfless concern for others, it points to the devotional temperament where one serves and uplifts others without ego—qualities that mature bhakti and make the mind fit for the highest goal.
No specific Vedanga (like Vyakarana, Shiksha, or Jyotisha) is taught directly; the practical takeaway is ethical discipline (sadachara)—removing envy and hypocrisy as a daily sadhana supporting study, mantra, and worship.
