Vāmana’s Advent, Aditi’s Hymn, Bali’s Gift, and the Mahatmya of Bhū-dāna
मनसश्चन्द्रमा जातो जातः सूर्यश्च चक्षुषः । मुखादग्निस्तर्थेन्द्रश्च प्राणाद्वायुरजायत ॥ ३४ ॥
manasaścandramā jāto jātaḥ sūryaśca cakṣuṣaḥ | mukhādagnistarthendraśca prāṇādvāyurajāyata || 34 ||
من العقل وُلد القمر، ومن العين خرجت الشمس. ومن الفم انبثق النار وكذلك إندرا؛ ومن النفس الحيوي (برانا) وُلدت الريح.
Sanatkumara (teaching Narada in the creation narrative)
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: shanta
Secondary Rasa: adbhuta
It teaches that the cosmic order is not random: key deities and forces arise from the inner faculties of the Cosmic Person—mind, sight, speech, and prāṇa—showing consciousness as the root of creation.
By presenting devas as emanations of a higher source, the verse supports bhakti-oriented worship that ultimately returns to the Supreme origin behind all powers, rather than stopping at secondary authorities.
It reflects the Vedic devatā–adhyātma mapping used in ritual contemplation (nyāsa/saṅkalpa-style correspondences) and in Jyotiṣa symbolism where Sun–Moon–Vāyu relate to sight, mind, and prāṇa in applied interpretation.
