Jyotiṣa-saṅgraha: Varga-vibhāga, Bala-nirṇaya, Garbha-phala, Āyuḥ-gaṇanā
पुष्पिता भार्गवे स्निग्धाश्चंद्रेऽथ कटुकाः कुजे । अशुभर्क्षे शुभः खेटः शुभं वृक्षं कुभूमिजम् ॥ ४० ॥
puṣpitā bhārgave snigdhāścaṃdre'tha kaṭukāḥ kuje | aśubharkṣe śubhaḥ kheṭaḥ śubhaṃ vṛkṣaṃ kubhūmijam || 40 ||
إذا غلب بهارغافا (الزهرة) ازدهرت الأشياء وتفتّحت؛ وتحت القمر تكون لينةً ملساءَ دهنيةً مُرضية؛ وتحت المريخ تصير حادّةً لاذعة. وإن كانت المنزلة القمرية (نَكْشَتْرَة) مشؤومة فقد يكون الكوكب ميمونًا؛ وإن كانت الشجرة ميمونة فقد يكون ما يخرج من الأرض (نتاجها) غير ميمون.

Indirectly, it supports bhakti-based dharma by guiding devotees to choose proper timings and conditions for vows and worship, emphasizing careful judgment rather than superstition—so devotional acts are performed with clarity and right understanding.
Vedāṅga Jyotiṣa: it highlights how graha-phala (planetary influence) and nakṣatra-phala (lunar mansion influence) can conflict, and how omens must be assessed comparatively (planet vs star vs object’s inherent nature).
