वृङ्ङात्मनेपदी धातुः र्श्रथाद्याश्चैकविंशतिः । परस्मैपदिनश्चाथ स्वरितेद्ग्रह एव च ॥ ६८ ॥

الجذر «vṛṅ» من نوع آتمنِپادا (Ātmanepada، الصوت الأوسط). والمجموعة التي تبدأ بـ«rśrath» تضم واحدًا وعشرين جذرًا. ثم تأتي جذور باراسمايپادا؛ وأمّا الجذر الموسوم بنبرة svarita فلا يُؤخذ فيه إلا مُعلِّم «it» بوصفه الدليل النحوي العامل.
